Shipping:
USA: Most items ship from our warehouse in Milwaukee, WI, but if you are ordering a heavy or oversized item, we often have the manufacturer ship it directly to you to reduce shipping costs and save you money. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on shipment weight and destination. Eartheasy can ship to residential and commercial addresses in all 50 US States, but unfortunately oversized products do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii. If you are in Alaska or Hawaii and have your heart set on an oversized item, give us a call and we’ll try our best to help you with a freight quote. Unfortunately we do not ship to U.S. Territories or U.S. military installations at this time, but we are working on making these options available soon.
Canada: Please check product pages to see whether your product is eligible for shipping to Canada, as unfortunately there are some products we cannot ship across the border. Canadian orders ship weekly on Thursdays via Purolator International and shipping costs include duties and taxes. Unfortunately, expedited shipping to Canada is not available at this time.
International: Unfortunately we cannot ship internationally, including Mexico or freight forwarders. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Processing Time & Shipping Charges: The "Lead Time" on a product specifies the number of business days for your item to be prepared by our warehouse. The Lead Time does not include the date the order is placed. This also applies for all shipping methods, including express methods. If your item is shipping freight, you will receive a call to schedule the delivery with your driver. If your shopping cart has multiple items, a shipping charge may apply even if some items are listed as "Free Shipping", as charges apply to items rather than total cart quantities.

Composite decking is one of the best material to use to make raised garden beds since it is durable, resistant to weather and non-toxic. Composite decking is safe, unlike pressure-treated wood, which contains toxic chemicals that can leach into the soil.
Raised beds can be any shape or size, provided the site where you place them gets six to eight hours of sunlight a day, unless the plants you intend to grow are shade lovers. Those standard rectangular beds are generally three to four feet wide by six to eight feet long.
As a general rule, raised beds are typically between 1.5 and 4 feet wide and between 4 and 10 feet long. Common raised bed garden sizes include: 4' x 4' 2' X 8'
Decking boards for raised beds are great because they are made of strong composite material. This means they can withstand tough weather and resist rotting and decay, which means your raised beds will last for a long time without needing to be replaced often.
Composite wood: This is a type of wood made from recycled materials like sawdust and plastic bags. Composite wood is rot-resistant and more durable than natural wood. Concrete blocks or bricks: These building materials can be arranged to form the walls of your raised bed. They are safe, sturdy, and long-lasting.
To create a bountiful garden bed, organic matter such as rotted hay, plant waste, and compost is added to the soil. Wood debris decomposes slowly, making it a stable source of organic matter.
Vegetable Beds: On the other hand, when it comes to vegetable beds, the bed must be approximately 12 to 18 inches deep to ensure adequate depth for the roots of your plants. This is especially important if your raised bed is placed on cement or the patio, which will inhibit roots from growing deeper into the ground.
Tomatoes should ideally be grown in a raised bed that's at least 15 to 18 inches deep. Many of my clients in Houston are successfully growing tomatoes in 12-inch deep raised garden beds, but their plants tend to be a little stunted compared to plants in deeper beds.
For a 4x8-foot raised bed with a 6” height, using Mel's Mix: about 5 cubic feet each of compost, peat moss, and vermiculite is needed. It usually takes about two to three bags of purchased fertile mix (1.5 cubic feet each) to cover the bed surface to a depth of 2 inches.
The optimum size for raised garden beds is around four feet wide and eight feet long. This size provides a good balance between planting space and ease of access. However, the size of your raised garden bed will ultimately depend on your available space, gardening needs, and budget.
Twelve-inch deep beds are plenty deep for most vegetables. Most garden beds are built over a base of dirt so most bed heights still give the plants room for their roots to go deep down.
If you love gardening but struggle with limited space or poor soil quality, a raised garden bed might be just what you need! Raised garden beds are containers made from wood, metal, or even Trex deck boards that hold soil above ground level. They offer several benefits over traditional in-ground gardening.
Laying the composite decking kit on the ground directly is not recommended, including the soil or grass basem*nt. Building a subtract is necessary for a long and stable decking usage. Joists in the composite decking kit are made to form the subtract of WPC decking.
While you cannot put composite decking directly on your grass or dirt, you can easily prepare your yard for deck tiles. If you're in the market for a long-lasting, low-maintenance, attractive outdoor deck, look no further.
Composite boards have several benefits over wood and is the perfect material for garden beds. Using composite for your garden beds will ensure they will stand the test of time, providing an ideal home for your vegetables, variety of flowers or outdoor plants.

Even if you could find them, it is best to avoid CCA-, creosote- and Penta-treated lumber. When using the newer pressure treated woods, consider using a heavy plastic (low-density polyethylene or high-density polyethylene) liner or a polypropylene fabric liner between the sealed treated wood and the garden soil.
